Galaxidi

Delphi Beach is situated at just a stone’s throw from Galaxidi*, only 15 minutes away..

Recognized as a traditional site since 1978, Galaxidi has a classy beauty that travels the mind. It is one of the few Greek towns that have preserved their traditional architecture.

Its long maritime tradition began in the 18th century when the shipmasters of the city turned Galaxidi into a mighty maritime and economic power. The locals respect the traditions and thus have preserved to the fullest the atmosphere of the past. The harbor still carries the glamour of old times.

You must not miss to take a walk by the sea from the main harbor towards the pine forest hill of the school of tourism or towards the smaller harbor Hirolakas, as well as to drive up to the monastery of the Savior to enjoy the splendid view.

Interesting sights:

  • The elegant neoclassical houses you will pass by walking through the paved alleys
  • The Aghios Nikolaos church and its wooden temple
  • The Maritime Museum
  • The Byzantine Monastery of the Metamorphosis, built in 1250, just three klm outside Galaxidi

The city is alive all year long, while during the Carnival season, the custom of the traditional flour wars on Clean Monday is of particular interest.

The staff at Delphi Beach will be happy to guide you in organizing the best suited journey.
